Thirty-two million years ago the ancient first ones were able to use, transform and create new existence around them. They had found a way to control life so that the younger races could not explain nor even begin to understand it. For this they were called Gods.
In the beginning all life was focused on one point in universe where there was balance and harmony between all things lifeless and living. Gods created modulators capable of replicating themselves, each programmed with a task of their own, to maintain the balance. The modulator was called a Universe Reproductive Modulator-reactor and there were only 63 of them. Some reactors took care of the trajectories of solar systems while others were there to keep planets habitable. The reactors were also responsible for creating as well as destroying life in order to maintain the balance in the universe. URM-reactor 57 was an exception - it belonged to a group of maintenance reactors that had the task of balancing, maintaining and repairing other reactors and the connections between them. Reactor 57 was the most important one and in charge of key functions within the URM-system.
Another significant reactor was the URM-reactor number 58. It had the inbuilt purpose of producing more reactors to sustain the ever expanding universe. There was, however, a flaw in the programming that the ancient Gods did not see before too long a time had passed to fix it. Reactor 58 could not replicate Reactor 57.
As the universe expanded it did not prevent Reactor 57 from functioning normally for its tasks were few and simple. Nevertheless, deep within the reactor was a threat that could not be foreseen. The fate of the universe could only be solved millions of years later when the greatest threat to the universe had become evident. Millenias later Reactor 57 was still functioning without a slightest disturbance due to its simple makeup. The problem came from the outside. The decay of time had reached even Reactor 57. As the system was designed to be perfect the ancient creators could not perceive how such an irrelevant factor as time could have any effect on it. Reactor 57 had become a hidden threat to all that what had been created and maintained in perfect balance for so long. Only time could tell how long Reactor 57 can endure the slowly growing pressure caused by the ever expanding universe.
